Hikaru Jitsukawa (PhD)
Year 2
Research Area: Geometric Group Theory and Topology
Research Bio: As an early career researcher, my research is currently broad and expository, but generally falls into one of two categories. My current work in geometric group theory has to do with the intersection of Coxeter groups and Schubert calculus. Certain combinatorial and algebraic properties in this field of study are known or conjectured to be encoded in cleverly constructed geometric realizations. Sometimes, these constructions can even give us a CW-complex or other well-studied space. I am also in the early stages of a project that looks to bring a critical disability studies perspective to understand the ways in which neurodivergence is talked about in mathematical spaces and experienced by individual mathematicians. Please reach out to me if you would like to share your experiences or contribute in any way.
