Combined BS/MS Degree in Mathematics
The Mathematics Department offers exceptional Tufts undergraduate Math and Applied Math majors the option of earning a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (BS–MS) degree in five years. This program allows students to finish the 120-hour undergraduate degree and the 30-hour master degree in five years.
Completing the BS/MS requires 8 semesters of full-time undergraduate residency, and 2 semesters of full-time graduate residency. The 2-semester graduate residency requirement cannot be reduced. Graduate residency can only begin after the undergraduate degree is completed (120 course credits + completed undergraduate residency).
Tuition and Financial Aid
During the early months of their junior year, students are required to contact their academic adviser, in person, to facilitate program planning. For more information about how to apply, please see the graduate admissions website and/or contact email@example.com.
Graduates of BS/MS receive a bachelor's degree from Tufts (BS), and a masters degree from Tufts (MS). Degrees are awarded upon completion of requirements for each portion of the BS/MS. A degree will be conferred once the BA requirements are completed, and a degree will be conferred once the MA requirements are met.
